Tottenham Hotspur FC - 2026/27 Preview and Predictions
Reviewing 2025/26
After finishing 17th last time out, but winning the Europa League and qualifying for the Champions League, a big pre season squad overhaul was predicted. A few good signings were made but they did miss out on Morgan Gibbs-White after a squabble between the owners went the way of the Forest top man, Evangelos Marinakis. Long term injuries followed for Kulusevski, Maddison and Kudus, coupled with numerous other players being sidelined, and Spurs went from 5th position in mid November, to 16th by early Feb. It never improved. They lost 7 out of the next 8 games to drop into the bottom 3 on the 12th April.
Roberto De Zerbi replaced Thomas Frank as manager and from nowhere, they found a burst of form winning 8 points from their next 4 games leaving them needing just one point from their final two games to be safe. Despite losing to Chelsea, they beat Everton 1-0 in a nervy final game. Spurs live to fight another season of Premier League football.
Looking ahead to 2026/27
And just like that, there's a good feeling about the place. A buzz. A positivity. As a neutral, I really like what Spurs have done this summer. Fans of all rival clubs are actually a little bit jealous of the work they're doing and anyone that says they're not is lying to themselves. Sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say, fair play.
Tonali, Fernandes, Robertson, Senesi and van Hecke have all signed on the dotted line and after outgoings at time of writing, Tottenham have spent a net £160m. That's the transfer window of a team that have no intentions of finishing 17th again. Quite the opposite.
Court Offside Tip

This could go badly wrong so I'm glad this isn't spread betting! When you look at the signings and departures and the new manager, you can totally understand the positivity and the bookies are all onboard too. Top 6 at Evens was good enough to tempt me.
