Bristol Rovers FC - 2026/27 Preview and Predictions

Reviewing 2025/26

After starting the season as one of the favourites for promotion, Rovers toiled and found themselves third from bottom by mid February and in real danger. However, experienced manager Steve Evans had taken over the side after Christmas and incredibly, they lost just one of their last fourteen games, winning eleven and drawing two. Culminating in a comfortable mid table finish. Strikers Ellis Harrison and Fabrizio Cavegn both scoring 11 goals along the way.

Looking ahead to 2026/27

Early pre season predictions tip Rovers to have a good season. As you would expect under Evans, lots of transfer activity has taken place over the summer and for the most part they've managed to keep hold of their better players.

The arrivals of Tom James, Jack Aitchison, Kofi Balmer, Ben Purrington, Ciaran Kelly, Bobby Kamwa and Richard Smallwood all show real signs of intent for the men from the Mem.

Court Offside Tip

I've stuck with the Gas to lift the League Two title this season. They looked strong last time out and they've signed well in the summer. Salford will take some beating but I think they just might do it. 15/8 on promotion was the safer bet and when you consider they could finish 7th and still feasinly go up, this has to represent value.
