Queens Park Rangers FC - 2026/27 Preview and Predictions
Reviewing 2025/26
Expected to 'battle bravely against relegation' (a famous line from the Football Manager game series) the Hoops had a strange season. Flirting with the play offs on a couple of occasions and even managing to give teams at the bottom hope of catching them on another. However, they sat 11th in early February and had they kicked on I fully believe they could've made the play offs and even tipped that they just might. But, they won just four of their last sixteen games, losing four on the spin twice in that run.
Looking ahead to 2026/27
After a topsy turvy 25/26, most of the Hoops faithful will probably bite your hand off to finish there again this season. A number of the older heads have left this summer and the loss of Sam Field to Norwich will be felt.
Julien Stephan and his side will hope to add more depth to the squad with Calum Ward and Tariq Lamptey's arrivals from Motherwell and Fiorentina respectively, the only notable acquisitions to mention.
Court Offside Tip
Whilst predicting a team to finish 19th doesn't sound positive, it guarantees another season in the Championship for the Hoops. There's a lot of very strong teams to content with in the 26/27 version of the second level and I can't see them finishing any higher which means looking over their shoulder. 6/1 to be relegated doesn't sound like a bad outside bet.
