Reviewing 2025/26

Another season that ends in mid table for the Cottagers. It could've been much more though as they won just two of their last six and ended up an agonising 2 points from the European qualification spots. After back to back wins at the end of February to move into 10th place, a disappointing exit from the FA Cup in round five at home to Championship side Southampton followed and with it went any form and momentum, winning 3, drawing 3 and losing 3 of the last nine.

But if you offered them top half and round 5 of the cup in August they'd have taken it. And would do every season.

Looking ahead to 2026/27

Marco Silva's era as boss at the Cottage has come to an end and it's going to take someone special to fill the void he leaves. Alvaro Arbeloa is the man entrusted to take up the mantle. 11th place last time out but I don't see them getting near that in 26/27.

Issa Diop, Harry Wilson and Raul Jimenez also all depart for new destinations and with no additions as of yet, it needs to be a strong finish to the window. If it isn't, the Championship could come calling very quickly.

Court Offside Tip

Given that I expect Palace to have a really poor campaign and only just survive, I was pleasantly surprised to see odds of 11/10 being offered on Fulham to end the season above them. Great value in my opinion.
