Blackpool FC - 2026/27 Preview and Predictions

Reviewing 2025/26

With pre season title odds of just 11/1, the Tangerines were on of the favourites for promotion, but by Christmas they'd spent most of the season in and around the drop zone. A small improvement in form followed, before a very impressive end to the campaign, culminating in seven wins from their last nine games, eventually coming to rest in 13th position.

Who knows what might have been had Ian Evatt been in charge throughout.

Looking ahead to 2026/27

Dion Charles arrives back at Bloomfield Road having started his career with Blackpool back in 2013. He scored bagfulls on goals under Ian Evatt at Bolton and wil be hoping to replicate that form next season. Ilmari Niskanen also signs on from Exeter and if they manage to add a couple more to the ranks, there's no doubt they should be pushing the play off places.

Court Offside Tip

Now here's one I'm surprised I seem to be alone with. The Tangerines were strong in the second half of last season, they've signed well in the summer and they have a good, safe pair of hands in charge. 5/2 on a top 6 finish therefore seems massive to me. It's genuinely not the strongest line up in 26/27 so there represents a great chance for a team from the pack and I think that team will be Blackpool.
