Oxford United FC - 2026/27 Preview and Predictions
Reviewing 2025/26
Pre season, Oxford were tipped as second favourites for relegation and I have to say, I had them finishing second bottom too. It's just such a tough division if you're not financially flush or stacked with talent. The U's ended up 22nd and go back down to League One at the first time of asking. The highest position they managed to reach throughout the campaign was 19th back in later October after a rare away win at Sheffield Wednesday.
Looking ahead to 2026/27
Not many know what to expect from Aaron Ramsey in his first real stint as a manager. If it takes him a while to settle then it may end up being a mid table stabilisation sort of campaign before a play off push next time out.
There's been a lot of departures as is often the case at relegated clubs but not much activity flowing the other way. Frankie Kent has arrived as cover in central defence but it's clear the U's will need a lot more if they're to mount any sort of attack on the upper echelons.
Court Offside Tip
I've got them to finish 10th this season but they still have a strong squad and they could definitely push the play offs. 3/1 for a top 6 finish definitely represents value for me so I may be tempted to have an outside punt on that.
