Reviewing 2025/26

My favourites for the title when the first ball was kicked. I thought 8/1 was a terrific price on the Bluebirds and promoted them as my pick of the season. And let's face it, it was looking pretty damn good for most of it. I saw them play a few times throughout 2025/26 including a very solid showing at Bradford in January, winning 2-1 on the day and at the time the title race looked to be done and dusted.

Despite losing just four of their last twenty-six league games, Lincoln caught and over took them. Cardiff eventually finishing second, 12 points behind the Imps. A truly crazy stat when you think about it.

Looking ahead to 2026/27

If you offered Bluebirds fans safety right now, I think they'd take it. The bookies ahve them finishing 1 place outside the relagtion zone and it's easy to see why. Having almost stumbled into the automatic promotion places last year, you'd think a few new faces would be required.

At time of writing, City haven't signed a single new player. Only made permanent the loan signing of Nathan Trott from Copenhagen. If they're to stabilise and solidify a spot in the Championship it's imperitif they add a few more numbers to their ranks.

Court Offside Tip

I expected more in the transfer window from the Welshmen. It might not work out like it, but it does seem like there was a concerted effort to get up into the Championship and an almost expectation that they'll have enough to stay in there. They might. But I think 5/4 on them not doing so is pretty good value.
